New Museum members got the chance to meet Derek Lam at his Crosby Street store last night. The contemporary designer fielded questions from the crowd and showed off pieces from his latest collection.

His SoHo store is actually designed by SANAA, the Tokyo-based architects of the New Museum. When he joined the crowd, he spoke about his inspirations, thought process and how the architecture of his boutique inspires his collections.
