Last night marked the Press Gala Dinner to kick off Honest Cooking's NORTH Festival. Produced by Honest Cooking Magazine, in collaboration with Restaurant Aquavit and the International Culinary Center, NORTH is the first ever Nordic gastronomy festival to take place in New York City.
The chefs who cooked last night, some of who are based in New York and others who flew in from Scandinavia, were Marcus Jernmark (Aquavit), Mads Refslund (Acme), Fredrik Berselius (Aska), Carl Kristian Frederiksen (Aamanns-Copenhagen), Vessa Parviainen (Mast Brothers), Sasu Laukkonen (Chef et Sommelier), Gunnar Karl Gislason (DILL), Gustav Trägårdh (Restaurant Sjömagasinet), Esben Holmboe Bang (Maaemo), and Frode Selvaag (Sterling Academy).
The attendees were a mix of press and sponsors for the festival, such as tourism boards and consulates from the various countries (Denmark, Finland, etc.) or product sponors like Rekordeling Cider.
