Carlos Mota was at the Mercer signing his new book, Flowers: Chic & Cheap: Arrangements picked from the Market or Backyard. Since everyone loves flowers, Zani Gugelmann, Tory Burch, Waris Ahluwahlia, Fabiola Beracasa, and many others showed up to support the stylist-slash-flowerboy.

Carlos is cute and all, and flowers are pretty, especially when attached to the heads of doe-eyed moppets, as in the photo above . . . but do people still arrange flowers? Or, more accurately, can Carlos hope to challenge that juggernaut Martha Stewart, who has already pretty much conquered the several hundred people in the US who do still arrange flowers? Only time will tell. At any rate, the blooms were lovely, and the attendees were fresh faced. Hanuk Hanuk kissed everyone, and then everyone kissed everyone, and then everyone hugged Carlos, because they're really rooting (pun intended) for him.

Plovgh, the new online farmers market
Who knew that the farming world had a trend? Well, Mallory Sustick, a Brooklyn bartender, works like a dog to maintain, promote and advance the online farmer's market startup Plovgh that began after noticing a need for more local farm market distribution.
