Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, Mayor Bloomberg has added new fuel-efficient rules targeting New York’s livery cars. These rules come alongside Bloomberg’s plan to hybridize New York’s yellow cabs, which he announced last year. According to the Associated Press, the plan would replace about 125 black gas guzzlers with hybrids between now and October, with the number growing each year until 2012. And we all know that means … err … less pollution. Or it just means that Bloomberg is REALLY into the environment. Either way, it sounds good to me.
