[Get under Rihanna's umbrellas-ellas-ellas-ellas]
I totally called this one. Today, self-promotion is at an ultimate high, everyone is expanding their brand, singers are debuting perfume lines, and actresses are designing clothing. Rihanna, who shot to stardom with her single "Umbrella" should have been selling these puppies months ago. Finally an umbrella company's marketing team (Totes) pulled their head out of their asses and realized the potential of using Rihanna as their spokeswoman. Better late than never...apparently the singer will be at Macy's tomorrow to show off her new umbrella line. The first 175 customers to spend $50 or more will even get the chance to meet the singer! Yippee. How many tweens are going to be skipping school tomorrow to pick up their very own Rihanna umbrella?

Plovgh, the new online farmers market
Who knew that the farming world had a trend? Well, Mallory Sustick, a Brooklyn bartender, works like a dog to maintain, promote and advance the online farmer's market startup Plovgh that began after noticing a need for more local farm market distribution.
