Dear Natty – Spring is finally here! I am so excited for the warm weather, but I feel like I still look like I’m stuck in winter. Eventually when I get a little tan, I know I’ll feel better – but until then, are there any beauty trends to perk up my look for spring?

It’s a fact: the moment the spring sun starts warming up, everyone - even New Yorkers, begin craving color. This season, that color is CORAL. From peachy to electric orange and everything in between, the vivid hue showed up all over spring 2011 runways in clothing AND on faces. Fendi, Jill Stuart, Milly, Gucci, J Mendel and more – all used shades of orange lips to compliment their latest collections.

What better way to boost your look from winter to wonderful, than with a vibrant kiss of color? And if a shocking pout feels too bold for you, test out the trend with a peachy cheek stain, sheer coral lipgloss, or tangerine nail polish. Go with your skin tone, not against it. If your skin has yellow undertones, go for a brighter more citrus based orange. Rosy cheeked girls with more pink to their skin should stick with shades that have more a more pinky base.

Don’t be afraid to blend. If you don’t love the color straight out of the tube, try mixing in another pink or nude lipstick, gloss or liner that you already know works for you. This way, you can create a custom coral that’s just right for you.

Trust me, it’s hard to feel blue when you wear this bright hue…so pick an orange and you’ll be feeling peachy in no time!
