Dear FF

Dear FF - You have a great point. Fashion is often cyclical, as evidenced by the 70's redux of wide-legged pants and fur vests that are so popular right now, or tea length skirts - back again after being made popular first in the 20's, and then in the 40's. Footwear follows a similar pattern, with pointy and round styles often going toe-to-toe on the trend timeline. But let's get straight to the point... What's the deal with THIS season? The good news is: Anything goes! While uber bulbous styles are slimming slightly more towards an almond shape, there are still plenty of curved toes to go around. From Chanel and Fendi to Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs, well-rounded shoes and boots stomped the runway for 2011/2012. However, these styles shared the catwalk equally with perfect points shown at Celine, Balenciaga and Givenchy. So to round out my answer, hang onto your round toes for now; they're not going anywhere just yet. You'll look on-point with either shape this season...so long as you don't attempt to bust out old boxy styles from the 90's. For now, square toes are for squares. xx Natty
