The Minnie Mortimer Spring 2011 Presentation at 1Oak yesterday had all the breeziness of a summer afternoon in The Hamptons, a theme which was reflected in both the atmosphere of the party and the clothes themselves. -
Guests from the UES social set and the fashion crowd ate mini cupcakes and admired models such as Coco Rocha, dressed in romantic, casual clothes (think summer afternoon in the Hamptons in 1935) with hair in soft waves and bright lipsticks.
Perhaps the most unique touch of the presentation was the video installation that played on screens in the background as guests moved around the space. In the video, Minnie herself rides a bright orange bike with a striped dress, barefoot. The video, which Minnie told us she shot on Saturday in a friend's driveway in Watermill, perfectly encapsulates her collection. These are pretty, easy clothes that you will want to live in next summer.
Guests at the event included Peter Davis, Topper Mortimer, Hayley Bloomingdale, Bettina Prentice, Lyle Maltz, Rachelle Hruska, and Ali Hilfiger.

We sat down with Anne Pasternak for a few questions about Creative Time's past and future, as well as the importance of having an awareness about public art in the city.
