Giulietta

giulietanewyorkSofia Sizzi has long been playing with color, shape, and a retro vibe. For spring she introduced a black, white, and nude jumper (with culottes, her favorite), and another look, a one piece with a geometric high waisted flare. There are pieces that are body-con and very sweet, deviating from the tennis inspired shift dress that underlined the whole concept. The collection merges the gap between femininity and sportswear, making this her first collection in which she's let the "sport" overshadow the "fem." Sofia Sizzi "This collection is an encounter between the femininity of Giulietta and the wardrobe of an athlete. There is an ease to part of the collection but we also played with contrast so a very fitted ultra feminine dress was infused with sport details and worn with flat sandals embellished with robotic jewel embroideries. I like to mix contrasting elements to highlight the eccentricity in my Giulietta characters, as I believe this exists in every woman. It was amazing to see Candice Huffine walk for Sophie Theallet this season and Beth Ditto on Marc Jacobs runway! Power to all women I say!" [Photo via]
