Learning As We Go...

ParmeMarin"What you can see here is a mix between collections and one of a kind pieces that showcase what we are able to do and the techniques we use. I work with two amazing women on my team, and then we have all these people who we call for specific work like bone, silver, and wood. It's amazing to think that you somehow help people and they bring their own personality and background into it. When I first contacted them, they said 'I know how to sew, but why are we sewing necklaces?' It took us a long time to figure out how to do these things because it's not like a regular way of doing jewelry. It's very interesting and avant garde. The women are very happy to work, they love it. In Morocco, women are less independent because the men don't want them to work." [Photo via]
