Australian designer Zoe Twitt told us that empresses and high priestesses were the inspiration for her 2011 Spring line, but we think the empresses and high priestesses of yore would be lucky to have the gauzy, pretty dresses the models were sporting last night (not to mention the hair and makeup).-
The fishtail braids and near-Edwardian updos made our jaws drop, as did the jodphur pants and beautiful fabrics, which Zoe said was the most fun part of designing her collection.
The standout pieces of the evening, however, were undoubtedly the bedazzled cat-eye glasses seen on some of the models and on the designer herself. They were amazing, and looked equally flattering on everyone who tried them on.
The presentation took place at Gallery 138 in Chelsea, where the soft sand colored walls adorned with black and white photographs perfectly mirrored the muted tones of the collection.
