Best Dressed Guests: Week Of August 29

by Chiara Atik · September 3, 2010

Everyone knows that the best part about going out is getting dressed up, and the attendees at the parties Guest of a Guest covers usually do this with aplomb. Here are the people (and outfits) who made an impression on us this week?-

Late 60s Look at the Black Book Reinvention Party

This girl is wearing a dress that is not only an amazing print, but an amazing color as well. The cut is super flattering, it adorably ties around the waist in front, the length is perfect, and I want to know where she got it. Love the on-trend beaded necklace, too.

Can we talk about her hair for a second? Like, is that a wig? Because, seriously, no one's hair is THAT perfectly shiny and full. Do you think she has a bump-it in? No one's hair is that good without outside assistance!

This girl seriously looks like an extra in one of those LA or Palm Springs episodes of Mad Men.

A romper we actually like at the final Jelly Pool Party

Finally! Someone at the Jelly Pool Party who doesn't look like they walked off of an American Apparel inspiration board. Guess what, hipsters? It's SUMMER, and colors are pretty!

I adore bright lilac and blue together--right out of a Matisse painting. The cut is loose enough to be flattering and low-cut enough to be sexier than most rompers.

The best part of this look? The fact that it's belted....WITH A FANNY PACK.

Think about it, this girl is wearing a ROMPER and a FANNY PACK. Two years ago the very thought would make us cringe. But....she looks great!

Ray Of Sunshine At The Yard

Are you guys picking up on the theme of this week's best dressed list yet? It's COLOR. Especially as New Yorkers prepare to go into winter, aka the season of black and grey wool, it's important to savor the last breath of summer color before sun dresses go back into the storage units.

This girl looks so pretty! She needs few accessories and embellishments, because her dress is enough to stand out as it is. You can't see it in this photo, but the outfit is paired with adorable gold sandals. So lovely.

And a few standouts from the week....

These girls made bold choices that are worth pointing out...

Is this kid a Liam McMullan waiting to happen? Are his parents the Novogratzes?

We sent out a Memo to everyone invited to our Crow's Nest Party that said: YOU MUST WEAR STRIPES.

    Most people complied.
