Despite rocking Manhattan less than a fortnight ago, at the first of Bruce Springsteen's two sold out shows in Madison Square Garden, it was readily apparent the aging king of rock isn't going anywhere soon.
Opening with a rarity, "Thundercrack" (an outtake from his sophomore album), Springsteen took the audience wandering down his memory lane, sampling songs from albums throughout his career. Capping the show was a duet with surprise guest Elvis Costello. The duo recreated their finale from a week and a half ago when Springsteen anchored an All Star set at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame concerts, a rousing rendition of Jackie Wilson's "(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher & Higher".
