Stuttering affects nearly 4 million Americans, according to the American Institute for Stuttering. Among those who have overcome the condition are movie actress Emily Blunt and TD Ameritrade CEO Joe Moglia, respectively, and were honored at last night's 3rd Annual AIS Benefit gala. Hard to top Joe Biden's remarks at last year's AIS 2008 gala, he perfectly summed up his speech impediment experience as, "In my darkest days I would not trade my stuttering for what it's taught me and what it's made me. It's been the single most beneficial thing that's ever happened to me... having overcome it."
