Last night, Milk Gallery hosted the opening event for Haiti: Hunger & Hope, an exhibition of photographs and film by "noted fashion photographer" Nigel Barker. Nigel documented his time in Haiti during the tumultuous spring of 2008, when many citizens took to the streets to riot, protesting the rising price of food. The event's host committee included Pamella Roland, Emma Snowdon-Jones, Philip Bloch, Adrien Brody, Ann Shoket and Spike Lee. DJ Cassidy provided the music. 100% of the event's proceeds went to benefit the Edeyo foundation, which provides food and education for underprivileged Haitian children.
