It's Derby Day Tomorrow! Where to Watch in New York!

    If you are not heading to Louisville yourself, and the local OTB parlor isn't your speed, there are lots of places you can head tomorrow to watch the Run for The Roses. Here are a few ideas for getting your julep on in the Big Apple; reservations and a little fancier attire than maybe you wear to the infield are both suggested.  You can get a little early taste of the Derby excitement tonight at the Maritime Hotel, where the Boys' Club of New York is holding it's Derby Fundraiser (tickets available at the door).

    Eleven Madison Park 11 Madison Avenue Esquire's Editor in Chief, David Granger, teams up with restaurateur Danny Meyer to host. The event will feature live coverage of the race, Chef Daniel Humm’s take on Southern cuisine, Maker’s Mark Mint Juleps, a cigar lounge by Nat Sherman, live Kentucky Blue Grass music, a silent auction to benefit New York Horse Rescue and more.

    Macelleria 48 Gansevoort St 4-7pm Anybody who comes in a fabulous Churchill Downs-ian hat scores a free drink from 4-7 p.m.

    Southern Hospitality 1460 Second Avenue 1pm-7pm $6 Makers Mark Frozen Mint Juleps, $3 Abita Drafts. Fried Chicken Specials All Day. Don’t Forget to Wear Your Hats & Elegant Attire

    Johnny Utah's 25 West 51st Street, NY Party starts at 3pm, race time is 6:04pm $ 5 Mint Juleps, $5 Jack Daniels, and $3 Coors Light. Live races on our three 150 inch drop down screens. OTB across the street. Ipod give away for best derby hat. Bull riding all day!!

    Van Diemens 383 Third Avenue They're offering a $50 bar tab to the girl or really adventurous guy with the best hat. Voting immediately begins after the race. Get in the Derby spirit with $6 Mint Juleps.  Coverage starts at 4pm.
