Fashion For Action is a public sample sale with discounted designer goodies that is going to go on till November 16th at Chelsea Thrift Shop, 143 West 17th street.  The hope is to raise money for Housing Works, hopefully up to $500,000 . Last night the Opening Night Benefit was held that was chaired by Marc Jacobs and held at The Rubin Museum of Art.  At 6pm the VIP hour started with people like John Bartlett, Kate Shindle, Agathe Planchon, Leigh Taylor-Smith,  Julia Gilhart, Kathryn Finney, Richard Vorisek and many more. Then at 7, general admission started with an auction, cocktails, some hors d'oeuvres and dancing!
