New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo led a fundraiser at a private Penthouse in the West Village. Guests were probably expecting Andrew to announce his expected run for governor but no such announcement was forthcoming. The event was hosted by Jill Weinstein and featured cocktails, appetizers, tequila and wine tasting, and cigars on the dual patios. Before Mr. Cuomo spoke the guests were treated to a performance by the Harlem Impact choir, which was recently featured in the movie "August Rush." Mr. Cuomo then took the floor to speak and took questions on the state of NY politics and New York State's future.

Afterwards I headed to the birthday party of DJ Cassidy at the New York Public Library, which has already been well covered on this site. Only in New York can you attend a cocktail party with major politician then head downtown for a birthday party with Jay-Z and Bobby Brown.
