As many of you know, we were two of the Executive Chairs of the Grassroot Soccer event held last night, along with Gillian Hearst Simonds and Christian Simonds. Grassroot Soccer was founded by Ethan Zohn (former Survivor winner) and supports AIDS education in Africa. The celebrations began yesterday with an All-Star soccer match in Chinatown, and then moved on to Marquee for the evening's festivities.

    More story and photos below:

We were gratified to be joined by over 400 people to support this great cause.  The event featured a silent auction as well as a live auction, with auctioneer Patrick Tully, featuring a Devils/Rangers hockey package, a private dinner with Gordon Ramsay as your chef, and a trip to Africa. People celebrating included  Anthony LaPaglia, David Strahairn, Mark Consuelos, Yannick Noah, Michael Strahan and Nicole Murphy, Kipton Cronkite, Annie Churchill, Dalia Oberlander, Courtney Thompson, Eric and Amanda Richman, Artwing's Paul Brickman, Jed Weinstein, and Rachelle and Chris from Guest of a Guest.

We had intended on staying at Marquee for a little while for the after party. But after paying $450 for a bottle of Absolut an hour before open bar was scheduled to close, we decided to go where the drinks were flowing and free-the Eldridge.  Matt Levine graciously hosted the VIPs and everyone partied until the wee hours of the morning. Pictures speak a thousand words so no need for us to say more. A great time was had by all and a lot of money was raised for a great cause. another great night....
