Celebrities Usually Don't Pay Themselves

Let's be real, the Met Gala wouldn't be what it is without the parade of A-listers making their way down the red carpet - their presence is the present. So no, celebrities usually aren't the ones paying for their RSVP.

Rather, they attend with their designer sponsor of the evening. Big fashion brands will typically round up a posse of celebs to dress, then drop up to $300,000 on an entire table to host their group - who, BTW, still need to get past Anna.

Other corporate sponsors have paid even more for their star-studded tables, such as Yahoo, which reportedly spent $3 million on two tables at the gala in 2015.
