Tomorrow at noon, the new Tiffany Wall Street store will officially open. Designed by the firm that brought us Tom Ford's flagship store, Yabu Pushelberg, the store looks like it will be making a grand debut. Some unique features of the 11,000 sq. ft. space include 35 ft. high ceilings, marble walls, a 75 foot lighting sculpture, and a S-shaped glass spiral staircase. There are also two private sale salons where you can view your jewels under custom LED lighting so you can see how they would look in both daylight and candlelight. "Breakfast at Tiffany's"...the movie that besides helping to unleash a wave of light blue boxes tied with white ribbons out into the world, has more dramatically sold hundreds of girls on the "New York love" dream for years, is also an obvious favorite of mine. Which is why, I feel it my duty to not only report on the new store's opening, but make the LONG journey down to 37 Wall Street (between William & Nassau Streets) very, very soon.
