Pulqueria

Pulqueria
Apotheke may have given you a reason to drink on this corner of Doyers Street, but Pulqueria now gives you a reason to have dinner on this hidden yet bustling Chinatown corner. Go up to the unmarked restaurant, past Joshua, the charming host at the door, and down the stairs to find a hip and intimate Mexican themed bar/restaurant. The menu is set up for sharing so we'd suggest getting chips and guacamole and an array of tacos to start, we suggest the Carnitas or the Asada (skirt steak, cilantro and pico de gallo), and then finish up with some of the larger sized entrees. For drinks, get a round of Pulqueria's excellent Micheladas or perhaps a pitcher of their Curados de Pulque for the table. After dinner hit the bar and order a tequilla flight, assuming you can handle three shots of some of the best tequilla around. Needless to say, be sure to have a designated driver for the evening.
