Jul 11, 2012 12:15 PM

The Caribbean, famous for sun, rum, and pirates, is emerging as a new trend. The islands in the south Atlantic have inspired an entire lifestyle, from island themed shirts, calypso music, and now food. Caribbean fare is a wonderful blend of European, South American, and African. The typical ingredients consist of rice, plantains, beans, coconut, ox, beef, and fish. The thought of Caribbean food can be a little unnerving, but it's simply a different take on some staples that are available in many cultures.  Check out some amazing Caribbean food around the city!
