These Day Of The Dead Doughnuts Are Scary Good

by Stephanie Maida · October 31, 2018

The ghostly festivities don't stop on October 31st! In honor of Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, the Mexican holiday observed on November 1st, sweet spot The Doughnut Project has teamed up with Mexico's Andaz Mayakoba Resort to create a special batch of colorful confections - perfect for any and all spooky celebrations.

Inspired by Pan de Muerto, a traditional sweet bread associated with the holiday, the doughnuts feature orange blossom and anise cream filling, orange glaze, and colored sugar, topped with a skull-shaped frosted shortbread cookie.

They're available through November 4th at both Doughnut Project locations. And, as if you needed a reason to post them to the 'gram, the resort is running a social media contest, giving participants the chance to win a two-night stay! Just make sure to add the hashtags, #AndazMayakoba and #DoughnutProject to your caption. Happy haunting!
