taste_of_gramercy_logo-300x276When: Saturday, September 26 @ 11:00 AM Where: Irving Place (Between 17th and 18th Street) Why: Gramercy Neighborhood Associates (“GNA”) will proudly host the 3rd Annual Taste of Gramercy Neighborhood (“TOGN”), an annual culinary festival honoring the best in food, culture and community in New York City’s Gramercy neighborhood. The first two TOGN events far exceeded expectations, with 20 of the top neighborhood restaurants participating in each, selling over 500 tickets and net profits benefiting healthy meals programs at local school PS 40 and School of the Future. This year, GNA hopes to build on its previous successes and solidify TOGN as a top culinary neighborhood, cultural event and citywide institution. GNA is dedicated to preserving the historical character of Gramercy, as well as its residents, local business and schools, by developing a sense of community through various projects, events and initiatives. As a highlight of GNA’s yearly calendar, Taste of Gramercy Neighborhood aims to promote local industry and introduce more New Yorkers to a wide array of Gramercy eateries as they enjoy the gourmet delights and refreshments from Foco Water, GuS- Grownup Soda, Squish Marshmallows, Irving Farm Coffee Roasters, Mexicue and Fam2Me. Presented by WHERE IN New York Magazine, ConEdison, Gramercy Pediatrics, Halstead Properties, Mavrides Moyal & Associates, Pangea Brands, Flushing Savings Bank, and Explore + Discover, TOGN’s proceeds will benefit local schools PS 40 and School of the Future, while leftover food from the event will be donated to The Bowery Mission to feed New York’s homeless.
