Why: The special gala program marks a significant artistic milestone for New York City Ballet as the Company presents its premiere of Peter Martins’ staging of August Bournonville’s Danish classic La Sylphide, one of the world’s oldest surviving Romantic ballets, which Martins has long dreamed of adding to the Company’s repertoire.
