I saw online that you're incorporating gold leaf in a painting. How's that going?
I’ve never worked with it before but one of my very favorite artists is Gustav Klimt. To me, the price tags and the gold leaf kind of operate the same way—they’re both indications of value. But the price tags are free and come on water bottles or something and the gold leaf is really expensive. But I get it from Thailand so it’s way cheaper. This [portrait] is actually me after an afterhours. I had a bunch of people over here on the roof and I was just feeling horrible about it. Like, 'Ugh, get these people out of my house!' So this is just me being old and over it.
