What were your first jobs? Where they at Russ & Daughters?
N: When I was about 4 I used to hang about at the store making myself feel useful. I’d wait at the door for the deliveries to come in and jump on the sacks of potatoes and onions, and tell the deliveryman where to go. So I guess that was a job of sorts! Even though I grew up in the business, I was encouraged to get as much of an education as I could. My first job out of college was at the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco. I took those years to check a lot of different professions off my list, and realized that what I truly wanted to do was come back to Russ & Daughters.
