How did the concept for Torrisi come together?
Rich: “When Mario and I realized we had found the perfect space on Mulberry Street and really realized what that meant, that’s when all of these ideas started to come together. All of the pictures of the places that we wanted were this exact mold. The two bay windows, the goods stacked up on the wall, that was the exact vibe we wanted to capture. Like the old school shop-Italian shop look – it was named after a family name in the old family neighborhood.”
It was meant to be.
Jeff: “The history of the street really brings a lot to the concept.”
Rich: “It’s the most famous Italian street ever.”
Jeff: “In the world.”
Rich: “Definitely in America.”
It feels like it’s in good hands. I like that you have the street on lock-down.
