How did you start selling your creations?

It was kind of a beautiful little accident. At university my friends placed orders almost immediately when I started to wear my clothes. The real turning point was after graduation, I was living in London, in the checkout line at Tesco, where a woman literally bought a dress off my back - we went from the checkout line to the ATM to my apartment, where I handed her my dress. I remembered being in a castle in Scotland with my mother, when we stumbled upon a portrait of Anne of Bohemia and my mother remarked: "Oh Mon Alix! That's you! My Alix of Bohemia, my little Hippie!" I took the moniker as my own - Alix of Bohemia sounded like a girl who had adventures, who could go anywhere and be cool, who didn't belong to a time or a space or anyone. The following decade saw me living in London and Hong Kong and now New York; I started having trunk shows and it's organically grown. I have never done any outreach to clients or vendors, people have just found me. It's a humbling moment when Bergdorf Goodman and Moda Operandi come knocking! And of course, it's amazing to have individuals on all continents who love, support and buy Bohemia. It's kind of a dream.
