At Home Anti-Valentine's Day Celebration Ideas

    Do you loathe Valentine's Day? Whether you are a recently dumped babe who can't get your ex out of your head, a bro without a ho, or just an average anti-cupid, check out some options for how you can say "f you" to the holiday.

    FOR THE GALS--> GET OVER IT PARTY

    Dumped recently? Or just can’t get that ex out of your head? Get together with some good gal pals and participate in a fun activity to help you “get over it”.

    1.) Soundtrack: I Am Woman - Pull yourself together with 14 tracks of empowerment including “ I Will Survive”, “9 To 5”, “Respect “, and many more.

    2.) Movie: Thelma & Louise, the 1991 roadie classic starring Geena Davis as Thelma and Susan Sarandon.

    3.) Get Over It Fun Activity: - Hand out sticky notes to each guest and tell them to write down the name of their most recent ex-lover(s) and one bad quality they have. Fold up the paper and kiss it goodbye. - Put all the sticky notes into a metal can or pot and take it outside. Light everything on fire and watch as your ex’s name burns away (for those afraid of flames tear up the sticky notes and toss 'em out the window)!

    4.) Food: Hot Fudge Brownie Sundaes! - Fresh baked fudge brownies (serve them still warm!) - Vanilla ice cream - Cocktail cherries - Hot fudge sauce

    5.) Drink: Hot cocoa spiked with Bailey's Irish Cream

    FOR THE GUYS--> BROMANCE PARTY

    For the single guys who don't have a date on VDay don't sweat it. Throw a Bromance party at your pad where you and your buddies can throw back a few cold beers, munch of some nachos, listen to your favorite tunes and watch a movie filled with blood, guts, and gore!

    1.) Soundtrack: Create an iTunes setlist ranging from AC/DC and Motorhead to Guns n' Roses, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, KISS, and so on...

    2.) Movie: My Bloody Valentine, the 1981 original.

    3.) Drink: Get yourself a Beertender! Heineken recently came out with the Krups Beertender which allows you to serve chilled beer on tap at home!

    4.) Food: Nachos! Ingredients: - 1 bag of tortilla chips - ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese - ½ pound of ground beef or Morningstar Farms Grillers Burger Style Crumbles - 1/4 cup chunky salsa - 1 package taco seasoning mix - ½ cup of sliced olives, drained - ½ cup of sliced jalapenos (optional) - Sour Cream Preparation: - Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Put in the meat (or non-meat) and brown it. Add the salsa and taco seasoning packet. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes. - Spread your tortilla chips on a baking tray. Sprinkle them with cheese. Put them in the oven at 350 for a few minutes until the cheese melts. - Spoon the meat mixture onto the nachos. Sprinkle the olives over the top. Add sliced jalepenos, if you wish. Top with a dollop of sour cream.

    FOR EVERYONE--> SAINT VALENTINE'S DAY MASSACRE POTLUCK

    Host a pot luck dinner party based off the The Saint Valentine's Day massacre from 1929; the murder of seven people related to two powerful criminal gangs - Italian gang (led by Al Capone) and the Irish gang (led by Bugs Moran). Obviously your dinner won't end in bloodshed but the story behind the massacre will give an interesting story to tell at the dinner table.

    1.) Soundtrack: Create an iTunes setlist with the likes of The Smiths, The Cure, Pulp, Stone Roses, Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen, My Bloody Valentine, and other similar artists.

    Drink: BOYW-Bring Your Own Wine! Let everyone bring a taste of their own poison to share with company. Red or White wine and lots of it.

    Food: This is a chance for everyone to bring a little something to the table. Every dish should be related to Italian food; lasagna, Bruschetta, spaghetti and meatballs, pizza, etc.
