Last night Christmas spirit, celebs, New Yorkers and tourists galore flooded Rockefeller Center for the lighting of the tree.

[All photos by JP Pullos for PMc].  Jane Krakowski hostessed the ceremony leading up to the main event, which included performances by Aretha Franklin, Rod Stewart, Rob Thomas, Shakira and The Roots.

There was much anxiety surrounding the popular annual staging, as both poor weather conditions and union unrest threatened to thwart the actual ceremony and television broadcast. Fortunately, everything came through to pull off a happy ending, just like our own personal holiday movie.
