Tell me a little about your background, you started as a dancer right?

Heather AndersenHeather Andersen: I grew up in Oklahoma in a town called Edmond, which is just north of Oklahoma City. It's a suburb that is oil money; it's really funny, people have really fancy cars and wear cowboy boots and bouffant hair. And live in mansions, and it's like a really confusing mix of things. My family is not from Oklahoma, they're kind of from all over, so I definitely grew up with a sense of 'you're not from here.' I moved here when I was 19, and I'm not going to attach a year to that. I grew up as a ballet dancer. When I was still in Oklahoma I danced professionally for the ballet company I grew up with, which is Ballet Oklahoma, in many productions. And then when I came here I worked with some small choreographers, and took a lot of classes, and danced with a contemporary company called Polaris for a year in Portland, Oregon.
