How would you describe Olivia Pope’s style? How is it different from your personal style?Kerry Washington: I would describe [Olivia Pope] as the modern day power dresser. We wanted to kind of re-envision the women’s power suit because you don’t have to look like a man to be powerful. So, it’s a pantsuit, she clearly wears the pants literally and figuratively, but it’s also really feminine. There’s a waist to these jackets, there’s peplums, there’s details, embellishments, buttons that are very feminine, so that’s kind of the look of Olivia Pope. For me, I think we have a lot of similarities.
