Erica: Sugar and butter and marzipan make me think of the holidays—and of stollen, which is like a sort of German fruitcake you actually want to eat. Balthazar in NYC makes such a good one that they only sell a few weeks a year!
Claire: The smell of pancakes always reminds me of being home for the holidays, because that’s really the only time my mom cooks them.
