I'm in the middle of reading your book and it is so incredibly detailed. It's hard to believe you weren't right there in the cafes! How do you go about bringing history to life?

Thanks for saying so! I pulled a lot of my material from old memoirs, in which the characters themselves are describing the scene, which may be why it feels so vivid. The idea was that Everybody Behaves Badly should feel almost like a confessional, as though the reader were being told the story by the participants themselves.
