A 'Call Me By Your Name' Sequel Is Already Underway

by Stephanie Maida · March 5, 2018

It's time to break out those short shorts and fresh peaches - Call Me by Your Name is getting a sequel. Well, reportedly. Cue happy sobs into a fireplace.

Despite losing the Oscar for Best Picture, the film starring Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer remained a crowd favorite at the Academy Awards. On the red carpet ahead of the show, director Luca Guadagnino confirmed that a followup was underway, and that audiences would see Elio and Oliver reuniting five or six years later.

While the script is still being finalized, Guadagnino told USA Today, "It's gonna be a new movie, a different tone... They're gonna go around the world."

More lovestruck frolicking across European beaches and hillsides? This is already too much to handle.

Until we get a solid release date, though, we'll just be over here crying to Sufjan.
