This Saturday afternoon, I turned on the boob tube. It had been awhile and I had at least an hour to be alone with myself and my tv. I had been looking forward to this all week. Of course, there was nothing on, except Snoop Dog's Family Life on VH1, which was actually pretty entertaining for a bit (they played Guitar Hero on it!), so I then turned to HBO in demand. I wanted to watch the One Percent, but it's not up yet, so I scrolled through the movies available. Then I stumbled upon something that made my entire subscription to the service that I use maybe once a month, completely worthwhile. The Wiz. It's actually pretty painful to watch the whole thing, but the scene above is worth your time, if only to see Michael Jackson (playing the scarecrow) in his early years singing along with Diana Ross (playing Dorothy) on a Yellowbrick road on Manhattan's bridge. This must have been like one of the first African American films to be made. Even in my completely sober state, I had to, for a second make sure that what I was seeing was reality.

*sigh* One of the first African-American films to be made? REALLY? This must have come out in the '70s sometime... I think there were maybe a few more made before then, n'est-ce pas? *silently judging you... in a bad way*
