You grew up in a very international environment. What was your childhood like and how has this helped you in your career?
Growing up in Uganda was Amazing, my father was not only a UN diplomat but also played four instruments. My mother, a wordsmith was very artistic. Growing up in a household with two dynamic creative individual’s helped me develop a global taste in music. I also had the opportunity to live in several different countries which were instrumental to my growth and taste in music.
And why did you get into this business?
It was my Junior year, Tmina…was her name I believe, anyhow she was having a party and asked me if I could DJ. Now, the only experience I had as a DJ was playing with a friend’s equipmen, however I figured it couldn’t be that hard. It helps that she was HOTT so I had to make it work. Needless to say the party was a Disaster at the hands of my DJ skills. But I liked it, if perfected, I knew I could be great so I continued, and the rest is history….
Best Party you’ve ever been to in NY?
It was this past summer, it was a hot day so a great night for this roof top party, the venue escapes me. The atmosphere was insane, Moroccan décor, sexy scantily clad women danced the night away on tables, the bar and dance floor. Sounds blared from the speakers as the DJ mixed hit after hit. I can’t exactly recall the ending of my night, however I woke up in a great place…
