I'll go out on a limb and say that I think that the death of Lee's beloved mother a week ago weighed a bit more into this situation than the suicide of his friend 3 yrs. ago. But, then again, his mother wasn't famous. So, I guess that wouldn't be nearly sensational enough for you?!

I noted that Ms.Blow's equally tragic death came three years before McQueen's, who by many accounts was understandably affected by his friend's suicide. I made no assumptions that McQueen's death was a result of Ms.Blow's earlier death, nor will I attribute his suicide to his mother's recent passing. I think it's obvious that suicide can never be traced back to any one (immediate or distant) incident, and ANY such speculation, especially of a public figure is quite impossible. We'll save the sensationalism for the comments.

I agree with ItAin'tThatHard. I had the same reaction after reading the article before I read the comments. Kind of easy when Isabella Blow was mentioned in both paragraphs of a two paragraph write up. Maybe just bad writing?
