1 Oak To Launch Their First Ever "House Music Night" With The Koch Brothers This Thursday

Jan 21, 2009 2:22 PM

This Thursday night 1 Oak will begin hosting House music nights, brought to you by the Koch brothers who run the Saturday Brunch party at Merkato 55.  An interesting development for the club whose music, up until now, has been somewhat largely dominated by hip-hop music.  We are excited to check in on the party and see how it plays out for both the Daniel and Derek, as well as the 1 Oak family.

When will club owners, partners etc. start bringing in some proper djs who play new innovative music/ mixes rather than these crowd-pleaser djs that play at 1 Oak at night and at Bar Mitzvahs during the afternoon? Oh and the Eldridge mantra "we let our djs play only what their listening on their ipods," is a good idea but they should get someone behind the decks who actually has some decent taste in music. The music was AWFUL at the Eldridge.

Well no shit the music was awful at the Eldridge... Hey, at least this "House Music Night" is a step forward. I've found it ridiculously hard to find any kindof all house music night here in NYC..lets see if this delivers..

Oh yes to raves, please! I never get tired of wearing day glo baggy pants, a wifebeater, pacifier, 3-d glasses, a candy ring, a fuzzy Grover backpack, and blue and purple manic panic in my hair while some meat popsicle who is higher than god from huffing gold spray paint and hippie flipping gropes my tits and calls me Polly while I try to "dance". Oh wait yes I did, about 5 years ago.

Partypants. Its clear that either 1. the recession has hit you and you now miss all the fun. or 2. Your the loser in the back of the line that just can't get in. looks like the only "house" music you're gonna be listening to is in your house. Enjoy. And stop getting so headed on blogs...
