[Photos via Nicky Digiatl] Market Hotel, a hidden music space on Myrtle Ave in Brooklyn was supposedly operated as a Dominican speakeasy in the late seventies. Today it "channels the spirit of basement parties and VFW-hall gigs everywhere." [NYMag] The Turbo Fruits Live show last month deem worthy of our best 2k moments...

How Turbo Fruits, below, decided on their name remains a mystery. Though, by the looks of their dedicated fan base one thing can be determined: they are well on their way to stardom.
