Continental, Everyone's Favorite Place To Do Shots, Is Closing

by Stephanie Maida · November 7, 2017

It's a sad day for current (and former) New York City college kids. After almost 30 years, East Village bar Continental announced that they will be closing next summer as the location will be "knocked down and developed." So it goes.

Famous for their epic shot deals (5 for $12, currently), which have probably led to many a NYU student experiencing their first blackout, the dive just off St. Marks was also a rock club, hosting the likes of The Ramones and Iggy Pop. And while anyone over the age of 23 will probably get a migraine, it's certainly worth braving the sticky floors and vomit smell for one last hurrah.

Cue LMFAO, featuring Lil Jon:
