"Hundredaire Matchmaker": Yentas For Peasants

Just when you thought materialism and bank accounts governed our dating, mating, and nuptial habits, Brooklyn proves you wrong. Union Hall will host its own rendition of Patti Stanger's "Millionaire Matchmaker" next Monday but for down market players. Here's how to snag a poor husband...

As the Brooklyn Paper reports, comedian and co-host Ian McEneaney has dubbed this Jan. 10 event "Hundredaire Matchmaker." Two male contestants, with just hundreds of dollars in their bank accounts, will be preselected and introduced to female contestants.

The men will indulge the women in mini-dates and choose one lucky lady. The audience will be able to participate in "truth or dare-aoke" and can be sure to let the inevitable PBR binges lubricate the amorous interactions of the evening.

"Alcohol and loneliness are the perfect combination," said McEaneaney, who will co-host with comedian Myka Foxx. "We're asking everyone to set their sights a little bit lower."

Here's to a kick-start in your romantic new year!
