Inside Talk Story, Williamsburg's New Bohemian Rooftop Bar With A View

by Una O'Brien-Taubman · September 23, 2020

Williamsburg has more rooftops than you can count, making it easy for some to fall through the cracks, but if there's one you don't want to miss this fall, it's Talk Story.

Named after the Hawaiian expression meaning "shoot the breeze," Talk Story is the chill new hang sitting atop the McCarren Hotel. Filled with eclectic decor like mismatched rugs, colorful art, and plenty of plants, the open air cocktail bar focusing on tropical global flavors feels like a bohemian vacation as you look out onto the skyline of Manhattan and Long Island City with nothing to worry about except which drink you are going to choose next (which, then again, might be a hard decision).

Open from 3 pm to 11 pm daily, Talk Story not only provides you with the ideal spot to sit back, watch the sunset, and relax, but also an amazing menu of snacks and sips. Try the acclaimed tropical cocktails crafted by award-winning mixologist Crystal Chasse and indulge in perfectly paired small plates like ceviche and chicken tikka with vibrant flavors of South East Asia, South America, the Caribbean, and beyond.

The best part? This hidden gem is still somewhat of a secret, so you might be in for less crowds while still getting the same incredible skyline views as other rooftops in the area. Talk is spreading fast however (see what we did there?), so stop by Talk Story ASAP to keep the vibes of summer going a little bit longer.
