Pyramid Club Complements '80s Music With '80s-Style Stabbings

Two men were stabbed early today at Avenue A's Pyramid Club. The antique nightspot peaked in the '80s (Blondie, Warhol and Madonna stopped by) and has been riding the decade's shoulder- padded coattails ever since. To wit, the party that ended in bloodshed was called "Cocaine City Giveaway."

Details are sketchy and the victims' conditions unknown. Here's the scoop from Neither More Nor Less:

"Something went wrong inside the Pyramid Club around 1:30 Thursday morning and 2 males were stabbed. Witnesses said that colors were involved , that is gangs...Something went wrong inside the Pyramid Club around 1:30 Thursday morning and 2 males were stabbed .Witnesses said that colors were involved , that is gangs ."

This continues the fall from grace of a venue that once hosted not only the luminaries mentioned above, but also old school characters like Lady Bunny, Michael Alig and Mistress Formika. Nirvana and The Red Hot Chili Peppers both played their first NYC concerts here.

Check out the video of Pyramid (and a young Michael Musto and Patrick McMullan!) in its happy heyday. THIS is the kind of '80s vintage that merits a revival:
