The Four Hottest Venues Of Spring Fashion Week 2010:

by Cary Randolph Fuller · February 9, 2010

New York Fashion Week doesn't officially kick off until Thursday, but our schedules are already packed with appearances at the best and newest spots in town. And because we're generous guests, we're sharing our scoop with you! Here's our pick for the 4 hottest venues to be caught at this Fashion week:

    18th Floor, the Standard:

Wyclef Jean christened the place last night, at his joint efforts benefit party for Haiti, but this floor is unlikely to be getting any rest in the coming weeks ahead. With a newly opened "black room" complete with pool (left) on the western side of the floor, only the most fashionable after parties are going to be allowed access. Tonight, Full Frontal Fashion is kicking off Fashion Week two days early, with a party tonight at the Standard, Poolside on the 18th floor. The event will honor some of New York's freshest and most forward-thinking designers, including Vena Cava, Shipley & Halmos, and Erin Featherston. Expect many more parties to follow in their footsteps.

    The Wooly:

We give credit to the Wooly for making the Financial District so chic last year, and Lower Manhattan's rise to the top shows no signs of abating. On Monday night in an early display of Fashion Week decadence Timo Weiland will celebrate their fall collections with a party at what has rightly been hailed the new Jane Hotel. Count on this guest list to be packed with the chicest and most recognizable names. We predict that this fete will be one of Fashion Week's most coveted tickets, as everyone is anyone will be itching to get into the Wooly.

    Good Units:

The purveyors of the Hudson Hotel were wise to unveil their new subterranean night spot Good Units during this week of taste-making. Presented by Giant Step Good Units will draw the downtown crowd to Midtown for the Svedka party with performances by Amanda Blank, Daniel Merriweather, and Ebony Jones - as well as the right to brag that they were there for the opening of our city's chicest underground lair. This party will be a perfect marriage of fashion and music so if you got an invite don't hesitate to RSVP a resounding "Yes!" You don't want to miss this scene.

    Provocateur:

Once the anchor of the Meatpacking District, Hotel Gansevoort almost fell victim to hordes of Sex and the City-loving tourists. With its new room Provocateur, the team behind the hotel are once again asserting their strength as arbiters of all that is cool in a neighborhood that has also experienced a recent nightlife revival. On Tuesday night mark your calendars for the LA Times Magazine's party to introduce the Oscar issue. This soiree will likely draw a Hollywood scene so keep those iPhone cameras poised and ready to capture the stars. Then on Saturday night, Alice + Olivia will take over the space for their presentation Featuring a performance by Mickey Avalon (!) it guarantees to be a genuinely fun scene, filled with people who not only love Stacey Bendet's popular brand but also just love to check their 'tudes at the door and have a good time.

These parties are invite only, but we will be giving away tickets to many of these along with some shows in our newsletter daily, starting yesterday! Make sure you are signed up so you dont miss out!
