Bemelmans Bar

The namesake bar of legendary illustrator Ludwig Bemelmans is covered in his whimsical art, one of his only surviving commissions open to the public. Located at The Carlyle Hotel, this upscale, Upper East Side haunt remains a favorite of socialites and celebrities. Stop in on a Monday night and you can even catch Woody Allen playing with his jazz band. Casual.
