Hotels are the cool places to hang out in New York. NY Mag just ran an article profiling Manhattan's trendiest boutique hotels. Use our handy flowchart to find out which hotel is right for you...-
The NY Mag article profiled the Boutique Hotel power players: Andre Balazs, Ian Schrager, Michael Achenbaum, Eric Goode and Sean MacPherson.
All the hoteliers profiled in the article have a concrete, if not entirely accurate ideas of what their hotels are like. However, it's the descriptions of their competitors that offered the most hilarious insight.
"Have you seen the Ace Hotel? It's very hipster. I mean, it's fine. It's not my demographic."
says Achenbaum, owner of the Gansevoort.
"We have as our neighbor The Gansevoort Hotel..."
says The Standard's Balazs, with seeming distaste.
"The Standard is great, but in the end, it's like a corporate hotel."
says MacPherson, who runs The Jane.
Meee-ow, guys!
