Serge Strosberg is a Belgian-born artist whose method of making his own paint with oil and egg tempera can be traced back to the fresco artists of the 15th century. However, Strosberg's subject matter is decidedly more modern: his latest work is a collection of portraits depicting transgendered people in New York City. On April 30th, Simply Chic PR and Curator Stacy Engman hosted a one night preview of his latest work, "Les Demoiselles de New York", at Strosberg's studio loft.  An eclectic crowd of artists, financiers, drag queens, lawyers, and musicians attended the three-hour event, including Strosberg's models Kenny Kenny, Jordan Fox, and Malik So Chic. The paintings are now on display at the LABA Festival at the 14th Street Y.
